The Essentials: LG's Styler ShoeCase Will Slay All The Sneakerheads
Everyone knows one.
He could be your best friend, your “hypebeast” brother-in-law, your business partner, or even the mailman.
We all know a guy (or two) who loves sneakers so much, he’d pass on every Playboy bunny in existence if it meant copping that elusive pair of Jordans. Or Yeezys.
For this savant, the world’s most covetable footwear holds as much value and heft as a 30-year-old cabernet, or a vintage muscle car.
And you can bet that when it comes to storing his prized assets (yes, some sneakers can technically become lucrative investments), this guy does not mess around. He’ll have long set up accounts with the Container Stores and the IKEAS of this realm, but it’ll take certain feats of organizational engineering to make him swoon, ones like our subject at hand—LG’s brand new Styler ShoeCase and its accompanying ShoeCare system.
It’s not the sleekness or streamlined design that’ll win over collectors, nor is it that display—it’ll surely be the built-in, “TrueSteam” tech, which promises to keep a man’s curation of grails sweat and, more importantly, stink-free by carefully steaming then drying them. If you didn’t know, the ShoeCase is directly inspired by LG’s Styler, a “steam closet” that refreshes clothes, dry cleans sensitive stuff like suits, reinvigorates staid fibres and even kills shit like bed bugs.
The Korean tech company recently unveiled the ShoeCase at this year’s IFA consumer electronic trade show, which is going down right now in Berlin.
No word yet on when it hits the market.
