Here Is The Official Trailer For Zack Snyder's Army Of The Dead
It’s been 17 long years since director, Zack Snyder, first turned heads with his deft remake of George A. Romero’s 1978 cult hit, Dawn of the Dead (yes, the one with Sarah Stanley from Road to Avonlea where they’re all in that mall).
Back then, Snyder was a fresh face in filmmaking and his polarizing, yet arguably stylish graphic novel adaptation of Frank Miller’s 300 was still ahead of him (as was the ire he’d draw pitting Superman against Batman on film years later).
Just when you thought Snyder’s name would fade a near-month into the release of his fan-championed cut of Justice League, the guy’s making headlines again.
This time, however, Snyder’s ratcheted up the stakes; the undead in his second zombie film act very much alive. Don’t expect zombies that meander and moan in this one, expect “smartened” ones that form tribes, wear war paint and worst of all… sprint.
Our assailants here aren’t the would-be Olympians from 28 Days Later, these ones run just as fast and they’re… smart.
But are they a match for the likes of ex-WWE wrestler, Bautista, and his merry band of mercenaries (the likes of which wind up in a zombie war after resurfacing from an underground heist)?
We’ll find out May 21, when Army of the Dead hits “select” theatres and everyone’s sort-of favourite streaming source, Netflix.
